CorrSen records electrical resistance of a thin metallic track deposited on a non-conductive substrate and exposed under corrosive conditions. As a result of corrosion, the sensor thickness decreases leading to the electrical resistance increase. It is directly recalculated to the corrosion depth, actual corrosion rate and environmental corrosivity. Owing to the simple operation principle, the device is easy to maintain and provides direct corrosion data in all types of atmospheres. Simultaneously with the corrosion rate, temperature and relative humidity are recorded helping to understand observed changes in the environmental corrosivity.

Copper behaves in atmospheric conditions similarly to bronze. Anyway, if it is critical for you to monitor corrosivity towards a particular alloy we do not offer, we are able to produce a set of sensors with specific composition. Please, contact us using the Contact form.

The basic version of CorrSen can be re-used. Any free sensor or sensor on a cable can be plugged in and monitoring re-initialized. Sensors can be ordered separately using the Order form.

How often is the corrosivity measured?2025-04-29T16:47:26+02:00

The frequency can be set in the online CorrSen software. The optimal setting depends on the purpose of your measurement. If it is intended to follow long-term changes, once a day can be enough. If an understanding into mechanism is sought, it might be useful to measure each 5 minutes or even more often. For most applications, between 1 and 4 measurements per hour are sufficient.

Yes. CorrSen is delivered free of charge in European Union. Additional costs may apply for oversees delivery.

It depends on the measurement and data transmission frequency. With usual setting (1 measurement/hour, 4 transmissions/day), it powers the device for 3 years. The battery can be replaced for a fee.

In European Union, it comes with the unit. Oversees, it needs to be purchased by the user.

Strictly speaking, a year-long measurement is necessary for a correct classification. However, in most cases, a month is enough to have a good estimate.
